“Fed Decision in October? My call: The Federal Reserve leaves interest rates unchanged at its October 27–28 meeting. Following September's 25 bps hike, I think the Fed will take a wait-and-see approach rather than tighten policy at consecutive meetings. Recent labor market weakness gives policymakers some room to pause, even with inflation remaining elevated. Another rate hike later this year is certainly possible, but December looks more likely than October.
